Isha Koppikar starrer Rocketship selected for Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival and Mokkho International Film Festival

An upcoming film of Isha Koppikar titled Rocketship, has achieved a significant milestone, being officially selected for two prominent international film festivals — the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival (DPIFF) 2026 and the Mokkho International Film Festival 2025.

The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival is regarded as one of India’s most respected platforms for recognizing cinematic talent, both domestic and global. The inclusion of Rocketship in its lineup marks an important achievement for the team, especially since the film was made in collaboration with students from Whistling Woods International, the film school founded by Subhash Ghai.

Koppikar’s decision to work with the academy’s students stemmed from her desire to support emerging voices in cinema. The collaboration allowed young filmmakers to gain hands-on experience while working on a professional feature film — an initiative that reflects her intent to contribute to the growth of new talent in the industry.

Sharing her reaction to the selection, Isha Koppikar said, “This is such an honour not just for myself, but for the entire team behind Rocketship, who relentlessly worked towards making it. Dreams indeed take flight, and I am so happy for all the recognition that Rocketship and the team are getting. I am especially happy for the students, who literally began their careers from scratch, working hard on the film, and are about to get their due recognition. Being selected for the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival is a huge accomplishment, and I couldn't be prouder of what they have achieved. I am convinced these kids will be going places in the future.”

The film’s trailer, released earlier this month, has already drawn attention for its emotional depth and compelling premise. Rocketship tells the story of the unbreakable bond between a mother and daughter — exploring themes of strength, resilience, and aspiration through a heartfelt narrative.

Produced by Harmanraai Singh Sehgal and directed by Arjun Menon, with a screenplay also penned by Menon, Rocketship features Isha Koppikar alongside child actor Amayira Sharma in pivotal roles. The dual festival selection marks a key step forward for the project, signalling growing recognition for the team’s effort to blend heartfelt storytelling with new creative talent.
