Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora share warm hug at Homebound premiere after their breakup; watch

Former couple Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora surprised fans and paparazzi alike by sharing a warm hug and exchanging smiles at the premiere of Homebound in Mumbai, marking a rare public reunion since their breakup.

The film’s premiere, held Monday, was attended by its leads Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vishal Jethwa, among others. Arjun showed up in support of his sister. Malaika also made an appearance. Videos from the event quickly made the rounds on social media, but one particular clip caught widespread attention: after posing for cameras, Malaika approached Arjun, and they shared a warm hug and pleasantries.

Following this greeting, director Neeraj Ghaywan joined them and the three were later seen in casual conversation another rare joint appearance given how much they have kept separate since their split. One social media user commented: “It is always uncomfortable to meet exes. But they looked alright,” while another observed, “A hug that speaks louder than words - Malaika Arora & Arjun Kapoor.”

Arjun and Malaika began dating in 2018 and have occasionally shared glimpses of their life together in public, but their breakup confirmed by Arjun last year led both to largely retreat from jointly appearing at events. Arjun had said, “Nahi abhi single hoon. Relax karo.” Malaika, meanwhile, has emphasized her preference for privacy, telling Etimes, “I am a very private person, and there are certain aspects of my life that I don’t want to elaborate on. I will never choose a public platform to talk about my personal life. So, whatever Arjun has said is entirely his prerogative. I just want to say that, yes, it has been a very trying year for various reasons.”
