Kareena Kapoor Khan says, "I think The Buckingham Murders is a very brave film"
Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer The Buckingham Murders recently released on the big screen after doing the rounds at several film festivals. While for Kareena the film has been special since it marks her debut as a producer, fans of the actress too are quite thrilled to see the film since it features her in a never-seen-before character. Kareena, who essays the role of a cop with a traumatic past, spoke about the love coming her way for this character and how she took up the challenge with the film on her 25th year in the industry.
At a recent event, Kareena Kapoor Khan said, "I think The Buckingham Murders is a very brave film because it's a film that we set out to do which would be very true to its ethnicity, and authenticity. We wanted to shoot the film in a small town in England and it was a story about that but the way Hansal wanted to shoot it, we were like we can't have people speak in Hindi, the people, the local people living there. So, we said let's make a Hindi and English and an Hinglish film and let's stick to its truest form. So, somehow I just wanted to do it. I thought after like 25 years if it's not now to experiment and do something different, it's gonna be never and I've always actually tried to do that with films like Chameli and Dev very early on in my career."
The Buckingham Murders released in English and Hindi, and despite the film featuring Hinglish accents in its dialogues, the audiences are still embracing it. The film marks a unique collaboration between actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, who has stepped into a full-fledged intense suspense drama for the first time, director Hansal Mehta and producer Ektaa R Kapoor.
Released exclusively in cinemas on September 13, 2024, The Buckingham Murders features an exceptional ensemble cast, including Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen in key roles. Written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker, it is a Mahana Films and TBM Films production, presented by Balaji Telefilms, and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and first-time producer Kareena Kapoor Khan.
